tool information

information on record planes can be found here and here and here. great for determining the age of record planes!

the best and most accurate information on stanley planes can be found here. type study can be found here, general information on different models here and here and for those that are into spokeshaves here. also quite helpful to determine the value is this. and of course this is a must-look-at!

information on millers falls tools can be found here. for those interested in millers falls hand drill type studies, this is where you have to go: no. 1, 3 & 5 is here and no. 2 has it's own type study which can be found here.

this website has links to pretty much all different makers.

for those of you interested in american tool patents, this is your choice.

me being the only member from austria in the mid west tool collectors association, i highly recommend checking out their website and becoming a member, even if you're not living in the US. great information on their website and a great quarterly magazine called "the gristmill" with articles about tools and tool meetings and all kind of stuff! check out their info brochure here:

i'm also a member of crafts of nj, the "collectors of rare and familiar tools society". you can join via jim bode's website. crafts has a magazine called "the tool shed" that comes out 4 times a year, really interesting! here's their information brochure

i'm actually thinking about becoming a member of the tools & trades history society. great to identify uncommon tools!
